PROJECT DETAILS

Project Background

Ololosokwan Primary School previously had 2 boys dormitory blocks, of which only 1 which was occupied by the schoolboys who stay the furtherest away from Ololosokwan. Originally, the second dormitory was built because the existing one was weathered and broken-down, with holes in walls and roof and with broken windows. In addition, the dormitory was jam packed with 4 kids sharing a bed and was a crammed space overall.

Our goal for this project was to repair the original dormitory to not only allow for more space for the still crowded boys, but to make sure that when they are far away from their families, they are safe and well protected.

Scope of Works

This renovation, overseen by a dedicated  Project Manager on the ground in Tanzania, and focused on:

  • Building repairs
  • Windows, ceilings & doors
  • Fit-out
  • Paining, finishes, water & electrical
  • Beds, mattresses & linens

The renovation addressed all the shortcomings of the old dormitory, transforming it into a secure and spacious  haven. Structural repairs were made, ensuring the building’s integrity. Windows were replaced, and the roof was repaired to provide shelter from the elements. Additionally, the layout was optimized, creating more living space for each student.
