SUPPORTING EDUCATORS IN OLOLOSOKWAN
At Explore With Purpose, we believe in the transformative power of education. We are committed to ensuring that our positive actions, such as building classrooms do not create new challenges, like an imbalance between teacher housing and classroom space. Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping the future of children, and we want to ensure they feel supported and part of a community that thrives, just as we do. This project was an important step in empowering teachers and creating an environment where education can flourish in Ololosokwan.
In 2023 we built a teachers housing complex at the Ololosokwan Primary School.
However as the school has grown, the need for more teacher’s housing has increased too. We now aim build a second, fenced-in three-bedroom housing unit with a garden for the educators at Ololosokwan Primary School.

- Project Dates: 2025/2026
- Project Partner: TAASA Lodge

PROJECT DETAILS
Impact Statement
Project Overview
WHO:
Educators at Ololosokwan Primary School who work in this remote location, away from their families, to serve the educational needs of the community.
WHY:
In Tanzania, teachers are often stationed at remote schools, with the number of teachers determined by the number of classrooms rather than the student population. As classroom expansions at Ololosokwan were underway, it became clear that teacher housing was equally crucial to supporting these educators.
WHAT:
The project involved building a new teacher’s complex to provide suitable living accommodations. The new housing features three units, each comprising three rooms, a sitting room, kitchen, storage area, bathroom, and courtyard. The renovation also included essential infrastructure work such as roofing, windows, doors, and electrical systems.
IMPACT:
The new living quarters help ensure that teachers have comfortable and functional housing, which fosters a stronger sense of community and collaboration among the educators. By investing in teachers’ well-being, we contribute to the long-term success of Ololosokwan’s children.
