Impact Statement
The initiative in Mairowa, Tanzania, in collaboration with Explore With Purpose and Wine To Water, seeks to transform the community’s access to clean water. By providing a sustainable water system, the project will improve public health, enhance education opportunities, and empower women by reducing the time spent collecting water.
Project Overview
WHO:
Residents of Mairowa, including women, children, and the elderly, who currently walk 5–6 kilometers to fetch water from the neighboring village of Ololosokwan.
WHY:
The lack of accessible, safe drinking water and the dangers of the long trek to collect water significantly affect the health and safety of the community, with tragic consequences, such as the loss of life in 2020.
WHAT:
This project will provide the community of Mairowa with clean drinking water, along with WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) education programs.
IMPACT:
The project will provide clean water to over 1,000 residents of Mairowa, save countless hours spent gathering water, reduce waterborne diseases, and empower the community to pursue education and economic opportunities.
