CREATING A HEALTHIER SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT

At Explore With Purpose, we believe that creating meaningful change in education is about more than providing classrooms and buildings. It is about ensuring that children have the practical resources they need to feel supported, cared for and able to thrive at school. Mairowa Primary School currently has a cafeteria, providing the school with a dedicated space where children can eat their meals.  However, the cafeteria currently has no tables or benches. As a result, children are having to sit on the floor to eat.

With approximately 740 students attending the school, providing suitable seating is an important and immediate need. We are raising funds for 140 cafeteria tables and benches so that children can sit together, eat comfortably and use the cafeteria as it was intended. This may seem like a simple addition, but for hundreds of children, it can make a meaningful difference to their everyday experience at school. The cafeteria is built. Now, we need your help to fill it with tables and benches.

PROJECT DETAILS

Impact Statement

The Mairowa Primary School Cafeteria Furniture Project will provide 140 tables and benches for the school’s existing cafeteria.
The cafeteria building has already been completed, but without suitable furniture, children currently have to sit on the floor when eating their meals. By providing tables and benches, we can help transform an existing building into a more comfortable, practical and dignified space for the school’s approximately 740 students. This is a relatively simple project with a direct and tangible impact: giving children a proper place to sit while they eat.

Project Overview

WHO:

The students and staff of Mairowa Primary School, a day school serving approximately 740 children in Northern Tanzania.

WHY:

The school has a cafeteria building, but it currently lacks the tables and benches needed for children to use the space comfortably.

With hundreds of students eating at school, children are currently required to sit on the floor to eat their meals.

Providing appropriate seating is a practical way to improve their everyday school experience and ensure that the cafeteria can serve its intended purpose.

WHAT:

Explore With Purpose is fundraising to provide 140 cafeteria tables and benches for the existing cafeteria at Mairowa Primary School.

The furniture will provide children with a proper place to sit and eat during the school day.

IMPACT:

This project demonstrates how a relatively straightforward investment can make a meaningful difference.

The cafeteria has already been built. Now, we have an opportunity to complete the space with the furniture it needs to serve the children of Mairowa.

For approximately 740 students, 140 tables and benches mean more than simply having somewhere to sit. It means being able to share a meal in a dedicated space, alongside their classmates, rather than sitting on the floor.

Help us give the children of Mairowa a proper place to sit, eat and come together.
