Meet the Talbert Family
In 2022, the Talbert family visited Tanzania and were deeply touched by the people of Ololosokwan. During their trip, they learned that a local primary school lacked basic needs and felt inspired to help. The Talbert’s connected with Explore With Purpose, and together are now actively raising funds needed to start a project aimed at creating a perimeter fence around the primary school. Your support will help provide the safe, supportive environment the school learners deserve.

The Talbert's Call-to-Action.
Part of our visit included seeing where the children attended school. Our guide talked about attending school himself there, the challenges he faced, the wonderful memories and friendships he made, and what it was like growing up in Ololosokwan. While the school was set up nicely, there were a few basic necessities that were very much needed. Primarily, the school needed fencing to keep animals out for safety and to protect the infrastructure. However by fencing in the school, the community would be cut off from a vital water source located in the school grounds, and therefore by installing a perimeter fence, these taps would need to be moved.
In our jeep ride back, Alexa turned to the rest of us and said, “we must do something. There has got to be something we can do to help.” Ryan and Luke agreed wholeheartedly. Magically we met Tina Owen, USA VP of Wine to Water in the lobby of our Lodge the very next day. Since that day, we have been discussing it as a family and talking with Explore with a Purpose, TAASA Lodge, and WTW on ways we could get involved. Through the generosity of past donors, $25,000.00 has been raised to date for this fencing project, with a balance of $20,000.00 still needed and this is where we would love for you to get involved too.
Every child deserves the right to an education, a safe environment to learn, and the basic necessities on hand to thrive. We hope you will help us make this a reality for these children in this Village Ololosokwan in Tanzania. Please share this message with your friends and family and consider donating amount to this worthy cause. It WILL change the lives of these children for the better.
With Love and Gratitude, Ryan, Luke and Alexa Talbert
