However, it was also during these walks that Carol became acutely aware of the stark contrast between the natural beauty surrounding her and the poverty that affected many rural areas in Arusha and villages across Tanzania. Carol’s journey into nonprofit work began nine years ago, inspired by a friend in the hospitality industry who encouraged her to explore community-driven roles. She started as a liaison officer, connecting a travel company with local communities, and her passion for creating change grew from there. Today, Carol oversees Explore with Purpose‘s in-country activities, managing key relationships with partners and communities, and spearheading crucial health, conservation, and education projects in rural Tanzanians.
