PROJECT DETAILS

Impact Statement

The renovation of Ololosokwan Primary School’s boys’ dormitory has created a safer, more spacious environment for students, addressing poor living conditions and overcrowding. The new dormitory has alleviated pressure, providing the boys with secure and comfortable housing while away from their families.

Project Overview

WHO:
Ololosokwan Primary School serves children from both the local village and surrounding areas. The school faced overcrowded and deteriorating dormitory conditions, with only one of two dormitories in use due to structural issues.

WHY:
Safe, comfortable dormitories are essential for students who live far from home. Overcrowded, poorly maintained facilities hinder students’ well-being and focus on education.

WHAT:
The project involved upgrading and renovating the original building, including structural repairs, window and roof replacements, and layout improvements to create more space. In addition, new bathrooms, beds, mattresses, linen and stowaways were provided.

IMPACT:
The renovation has significantly improved the boys’ living conditions, reducing overcrowding and providing a secure, comfortable space.
